Marc Rayner, an Australian artist living in Sweden, creates 'quasi-landscapes' that alternate between dense layers of text and design and stark, minimal compositions. Within these constructed environments, he populates his work with tormented and disenfranchised figures. Rayner draws influence from outsider and naive art traditions. His work has been exhibited widely in Australia and internationally, including venues in Sweden, Monaco, France, Qatar, Italy, India, South Korea, Denmark, and Japan.
