Drawing on early Italian techniques learned in Florence, Lara Broecke works with gold leaf and egg tempera, grinding pigments by hand and painting on gessoed wooden panels. Now based in France, she combines a medieval aesthetic with modern compositions, producing detailed images that reflect both the natural world and humanity’s connection to it.
