Gerardus Cornielje Baron von Sachsen is a Dutch poet, musician, and visual artist whose work reflects a rich tapestry of multicultural experiences. Working in both mixed media and digital formats, he combines digital painting with acrylic, ink, charcoal, and found objects, drawing on abstract, expressionist, and urban influences shaped by an improvisational sensibility. His art explores themes of reflection, longing, wonder, and the rhythms and vulnerabilities of human existence. An accomplished author, Gerard has published over thirty books in Dutch, German, and English. Among them, Duende stands out as a poetic inquiry into Spain’s soul, history, and identity, structured around heroic crowns and inspired by Federico García Lorca. The motifs that inform his literary practice remain present in his visual work.
