Ezequiel Martínez Llaser, born in Argentina in 1981, is known for large-scale surrealist oil paintings that deconstruct reality and dominant social values. Influenced by Dalí and Goya, his practice reflects a background in both art and philosophy, studied at the University of Buenos Aires and Paris VIII. His recent series, "Fragmentation and Totality," draws on Nietzsche and Bergson to critique Western rationalism through vitalist philosophy. Martínez Llaser has exhibited in Buenos Aires, Rome, Barcelona, Madrid, and Paris, and participated in the 2019 Florence Biennale. Since 2022, his work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona. He lives in Paris and Barcelona.
