Eric Polins creates layered mixed-media compositions in acrylic, collage, and resin that weave together culture, memory, and sound. Drawing on over 25 years as a writer, creative director, and filmmaker, he approaches visual art as a form of storytelling. Raised by a fashion illustrator and an engineer, Polins combines creative instinct with technical precision—a balance further informed by early experience in web development and animation. His process integrates archival imagery, typography, and cultural references, producing works that feel at once chaotic and controlled. Music shapes both his subjects and compositional structure, with rhythm and repetition driving the visual flow. Influenced by a background in branding, Polins maintains a focus on clarity and impact, often using metallic elements such as gold leaf to heighten depth and emphasis. His work considers the ways identity forms through the layering of influence and experience.
