Béatrice Bescond is a French painter and designer whose work has been shown in France, Japan, the United States, Belgium, Sweden, South Korea, Germany, Austria, Czechia, and Lebanon. Her practice engages with myths and archetypal figures through processes that combine figuration with disfigurement, negotiating appearance, disappearance, presence, and absence. From 1988 to 1998, her work was regularly featured by Galerie du Center in Paris and at international art fairs. In 2011, she took part in a Paris-Texas cultural exchange, followed by a residency at the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts in Taipei in 2016. In 2018, she presented “In the presence of trees” at the Museum of Fine Arts in Vannes. Bescond’s work is held in public and private collections, including FNAC, FDAC, the Musée des Beaux Arts de Vannes, KdMoFA in Taipei, and the Colas Foundation.
