Asami Goto works across Nihonga and her own Geometric Embroidery + Sumi Ink Art. Drawing on Buddhist visual traditions and the formal qualities of classical Japanese painting, her Nihonga captures subtle presences and unseen atmospheres. In her textile-based practice, Goto combines organic cotton, silk threads, sumi ink, and gold and silver leaf to link geometric structure with the rhythms of the natural world, making visible the connections between living systems. Her work has been shown in France, the United States, Spain, Japan, and other international venues. In 2023, Goto received an Excellence Award at The National Art Center, Tokyo. She is a member of both the Japan Artists Association (JAA) and the International Association of Art (IAA).
