Before turning to painting, Ans Duin built a successful career in fashion, organizing shows aboard The Britannia and completing 48 voyages with the ship. In 1980, she established a modeling and casting agency that became one of the most recognized in the Netherlands. Her work as a casting director brought her to television, where she offered her perspective on film and commercial production. After selling her agency in 2002, she spent an extended period traveling in South Africa, an experience that sparked her interest in art. Duin’s paintings draw on her personal experiences and emotions, viewing painting as both process and expression.
