Meinrad Hoyer, né à Karlsruhe en 1965, a débuté très tôt son développement artistique, ce qui l'a conduit, par des études autodidactes approfondies en histoire de l'art, à un langage visuel singulier. Sa première exposition dans une galerie professionnelle a eu lieu en 2000. Elle a été suivie de nombreuses présentations, d'une couverture médiatique et d'une participation à des foires d'art internationales, notamment à Luxembourg et à Cologne. Depuis 2017, il est membre permanent de la galerie Ingrid Renz. La peinture de Hoyer est intuitive et spontanée, oscillant librement entre abstraction et figuration. Elle se caractérise par un coup de pinceau physique et affirmé, ainsi que par l'utilisation consciente des éraflures et de la matérialité. Collectionneur d'art contemporain de longue date, Hoyer apporte également à son travail une fine connaissance de l'art actuel. Sa peinture est influencée, entre autres, par les œuvres de Francis Bacon, Cy Twombly, Jean-Michel Basquiat et, plus particulièrement, Robert Rauschenberg. www.meinrad-hoyer.de
