Jarik Jongman (1962), après des études à l'Académie des Beaux-Arts d'Arnhem, a travaillé comme assistant d'Anselm Kiefer en France. Il a régulièrement exposé aux Pays-Bas et à l'étranger, notamment à Berlin, Londres, New York, Jérusalem, et à deux reprises lors d'événements parallèles à la Biennale de Venise, en 2009 et 2011.
En 2010, il a remporté le premier prix (ex-aequo) du Concours national d'art ouvert du Royaume-Uni, présidé par Gavin Turk. Son travail a été sélectionné pour le prix Threadneedle et le prix John Moores, et a été exposé à la Biennale de Liverpool en 2012.
En 2017, il remporte le Prix d'Art du Luxembourg.
Ses œuvres font partie de collections aux Pays-Bas et à l’étranger.
Il utilise ses propres photographies ainsi que du matériel trouvé dans les marchés aux puces et sur Internet comme point de départ de son travail, dans lequel l'architecture joue souvent un rôle.
Les thèmes récurrents dans son œuvre incluent : la métaphysique, la fugacité, l’histoire et la condition humaine.
